  Due diligence is preached in purchasing right, but is due diligence to stop there?   Only if you don’t mind surprises!   Any remodeling project or ground up developing takes a lot of time and effort to complete. And therefore,  lots of hands on the project.   And often the project owner might not expect to face a surprise like this when one of these extensions to the project places a mechanic's lien on their property.

  A mechanics lien — also known as a construction lien or a supplier’s lien — gives the contractor or supplier the right to seek payment from the property owner by foreclosing on the property and preventing the property owner from selling or refinancing the property until the debt is paid. But here is the truth: real estate developers and project owners should never lose lien claims. Here is what to know about mechanics liens:
