Building with shipping containers is the newest trend sweeping the nation and it's landed in Bentonville! On July 17, the NWA Dem Gazette reported that Bentonville Planning Commission had approved a permit for a two-container building to be built in the heart of downtown. The two-story structure will house Spoke Adventures, a bike rental business and is scheduled to open in 2-3 weeks. Two containers are stacked in a L-shape configuration comprising 250 sf. Total estimated cost is $25,000-$35,000 and time for project completion estimated at 2-3 weeks. Jesse Hull is co-owner of Spoke Adventures. He and his other co-owners, Barry Furuseth and Paul Juozaitis, are the driving force behind getting the project approved.
