The Federal Relief Fund has allocated millions of dollars to cities and counties for rental assistance due to Covid-related hardships. Benton and Washington Counties have released funds that are now available.
Financial assistance is available in the forms of rental arrears, rent payments, utility arrears and utility payments connect to a rental unit. We're bringing you the top executives responsible for disbursing those funds in Benton and Washington Counties. You'll hear from Hark at the Excellerate Foundation in Benton County and the Springdale Housing Authority responsible for Washington County. You'll learn:
Susan Upchurch is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for all financial and administrative activities at Excellerate Foundation. She is a CPA who brings decades of experience across a wide set of financial disciplines.
Hark has helped thousands of NWA residents connect to vital community resources and services in those moments “when life happens”.
The Excellerate Foundation invests in forward-looking ideas and tangible solutions within our community and partners with other businesses, municipalities, and institutions that shape our region to develop a shared vision.
Mary James is Executive Director of the Springdale Housing Authority. Prior to her six years in Springdale, she spent 30 years managing housing for the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah. Mary is an Oklahoma native and has a great heart for our region and it's inhabitants.
The Springdale Housing Authority manages a total of 197 apartments. Selected by the Washington County Quorum Court, they are responsible for disbursing federal funds throughout Washington County and all its municipalities.
